Home offices are becoming increasingly common as evermore people work from the domestic environment. The Internet has enabled remote working, while rapid developments in computer hardware mean that all office activities can be carried out on very simple setups, often needing little more than a laptop, desk, telephone or mobile device. As such, home office interior design can be very simple and uncluttered, stylishly minimalist and arranged for maximum productivity. This post brings together 20 examples of neat and minimal office setups to amaze and inspire.

Bears Cave Office by Paul Coudamy

The “Bears Cave” is a stunning interior office design project that was recently completed by French architect Paul Coudamy on behalf of Bearstech, an internet hosting company located in Paris. The goal of the office design was to create a headquarters that communicated a feeling of strength by reflecting Bearstech’s innovative and wild approach to virtual technology.

The office is organized into three spaces, a working space, leisure space, and a meeting space. The back room provides a mineral atmosphere with Parisan rock and brick walls, a stark contrast to the chaotic cavern walls of the front meeting room which were created with wood cut-offs rescued from sidewalks, dumpsters, and wasteland, the structure of which was intended to translate “the chaotic mass power dynamited in an uncontrolled energy: a wood vortex our of a natural disaster“.

Facebook Office Headquarters

facebook offices

The popular social networking site Facebook recently employed the services of San Francisco design firmStudio O+A to design their new corporate headquarters in Palo Alto’s Stanford Research Park, and the results are not surprisingly quite impressive.

The offices were designed to facilitate employee interaction and connection in order to reflect the company’s mission to connect people; a notion that was even reflected during the design phase of the offices as company-wide polls and personal interviews were conducted to determine what the employees wanted from their work spaces.facebook office headquarters

The new facility is the first commercial project that has been completed under Palo Alto’s 2008 Green Building Ordinance, which was accomplished by recycling and repurposing various components of the original facility such as millwork and industrial components. Furthermore the offices also feature energy-efficient lighting and high recycled-content carpet.Facebook corporate headquartersnew facebook office

Twitter's New Office

The popular social networking site Twitter recently relocated its office headquarters to a space previously occupied by Bebo in San Francisco’s SoMa district. The interior design of the new office was spearheaded by Sara Morishige Williams, whose goal was to “bring the outdoors in, while making the space playful yet useful and sustainable”. The entire office is equipped with wifi connectivity, and has several fun features such as a dj booth, arcade, custom concrete conference tables, and of course plenty of playful bird depictions. Here’s some pictures taken by the company’s own employees.

Mono Ad Agency Office

Mono ad agency office design

Nested inside a historic building in uptown Minneapolis that sat vacant for almost 20 years previously housing a print shop and a car dealership, you will now find the very cool offices of the advertising agencyMono. In a neighborhood known for funky shops, eateries and apartments, the entrance to Mono’s office is easily distinguishable by its boldly colored blue door, which upon entering leads visitors down a path of finished concrete floors that still have flicks of color from the old print shop.

mono office

The design of the Mono offices was a collaboration between Mono’s co-founder Chris Lange, and architect Charlie Lazor or Lazor Office and Flatpak House, who together aimed to transform the space into a open place where creative ideas could roam free, a notion well visible in the final result.

The same blue from the entrance door can be found accenting the offices bright white walls, as well as on ceiling beams and office doors, including a refinished barn door that slides open to reveal a modern conference room lined with Herman Miller Embody chairs.

Ditching the traditional cubicles, Mono’s employees sprout their creative genius from very interesting looking work “pods” that surround the heart of the office.
